Hi!
Today was sure different than yesterday, and that is OK even for the "Talent." As I came into the main office of BPS, the Store Manager said he had something to tell me about. My interest was peaked because he has never done that before. He read an email from a person who drove 100 miles one way to see the Claus and how thrilled he was with how well I did my job. He even relayed that when we had computer problems, I went down the entire line and told everybody what happened and talked with the kids. Mr. Wargo said that this was at least the 5th email he's received on how well I am doing. The Dude was humbled.
As the Dude in the Red Suit, I get to tell you that we had 160 people come and get their photo with me. We also had a few dogs - a Pit Bull/Bulldog mix, a Golden Lab, and a pepper-coated Shepard mix.
At the start of the day we a short line of happy kids and parents who wanted to meet the Claus. So I worked the line for a few minutes and then headed for the Big Chair. I knew we were going to have a good night as the first kid bounced and hopped all the way to Santa.
Later in the day we had a partial power outage, but it did not affect any of the photo stuff so we kept going. BPS maintenance was called and they figured we needed to shut down for awhile. We agreed to 8pm and they did not have any idea how long it would be. Well, at 8pm we shut down and by 8:10pm we were back up and running.
We did have an interesting one with parents who brought their two kids in to see Mr. C in their PJ's. And yes, they were Christmas themed. The kids were so cute and they also both wore Santa hats. We had some really crying kids, too but the majority of the parents took my advice and we had a good photo with as little crying as possible. It is the old back-to-back and back into Santa trick; it works fairly well.
Well, Santa is about ready to turn into the great pumpkin, so off to bed.
Santa
