I can't believe it...

Hello to you all,

I hope you all had a great day. I had a good day leaning towards a little crazy.

We had 59 photos taken and last year we did 53, so another day with an increase. I would like to sit down and figure the percentages but I am happy with an increase. We only had 1 dog and it was a Chocolate Lab. Great looking dog!

I was reading my email and found out some interesting information. As you are aware, I did an interview on November 4th with NBC (Kare 11) about my plan to Skype with sick kids, and keep myself healthy with the H1N1 out there. Much to my surprise, they aired the interview that same evening...I mention this because I was just notified that CBS is running with it at WZZM 13 in Michigan. Also City Pages in Minneapolis is redoing it with their spin. They have it in print and on the Web. Santa is just shocked on how this has grown legs.

Today was a shocker (as if the above wasn't enough) because Santa needed to "punt." When it's time for me to sit in the Big Chair, I usually get escorted down by an elf or two. Today, nobody showed. No big deal, I thought. The Talent can walk to his chair by himself. However, I had to wait for an escort. When my escort did come, she asked me who was taking the photos. I said I didn't know and asked "Why?" (Why did I do that.) She told me nobody was down there. I thought she was pulling my leg. But nope, not even the camera equipment was there. So as the Bass Pro people were finding out what was going on and who was going to snap some photos, I worked the line.

I am a firm believer that if you tell people the truth with a smile, they will smile in kind. (Plus who would yell at Santa?) So I walked up to the people in the front of the line and said I have some good news and some not so good news. The good news - I'm here! The not so good news - The photo stuff is not. After a short wait, we were honored to have one of the Bass Pro managers snapping photos for an hour in Santa's Wonderland.

So after we got going, I noticed that everyone I had talked with came back in line and had their photo with the Dude.
