Hello to my loyal readers.
Mrs. Claus and I were off to the airport at 4am on November 5th to catch my 7am flight. The drive went very well, as Mrs. Claus drives very well. After saying goodbye, I headed off to catch my flight to Harrisburg with a plane change in Philly. The flight was so smooth from MSP to Philly that even Santa caught a nap (which I never do on a plane) for the first time. After a great ride on that lovely jet, I switched to an 80-seat turbo propped plane (if you can call it that). I knew it would be fun when the Flight Attendant advised us that due to turbulence, she would not be getting out of her 4-point seat belt seat. I would guess it was a flight somewhere between a Roller Coaster ride and a Giggler. Let me put it this way. I did not sleep on that flight, and the flight crew did not even tell us they were going to land. We just appeared on the runway with a THUD!
After collecting my bags, I was picked up by Bobby from Bass Pro and brought to the hotel I'm staying at for the next 50 days. The hotel is brand new and within walking distance of Bass Pro. I was surprised that my room is decorated in a 60's retro look, from the lights to the furniture. But I am sure it will be just fine for the time I am here.
I did some unpacking and walked over to Bass Pro in the rain. The people at Bass Pro were very glad to see me and made me feel welcome. I then went to see the new Santa's Wonderland. WOW! did it get bigger. They are going to make their own fudge, bake cookies, roast nuts, and pop popcorn ALL within 20 feet of Santa. I think they are trying to kill Santa with all those wonderful baking smells. Plus they have a new race track for the kids to use, a train set, and a whole bunch of free things for the kids to do.
Tomorrow morning I'm going to be picked up at 7:15am to head for the Fox studios in New York. On Saturday morning (November 7th) I will be on Fox & Friends for their 3-hour show. I think it will be alot like last year, but with the additional new fun things for the kids to play with. I will try to take some pictures and post them for you, if possible.
Now I really have to head to bed as Santa needs his beauty sleep. I will blog again after I get back from New York.
Santa Joe
